If you have qualified for a second round and taken up that Qualification by sending off your filled in Congratulations Letter to obtain your GREEN qualification card you can enter any second round you wish at any Centre you wish and as many as you wish. Make sure you take your GREEN qualification card with you to the Second Round to show that you have qualified at that level for this series. Please note that every Centre has its own entry procedures which must be followed the Centres run all first and second rounds just contact which Centre you wish to compete at. Dressage competitors please note that the BD points total is on the day of the competition, there is no cut off point, it is up to you to make sure you are eligible to enter the class. If you are an affiliated rider you are welcome to enter Trailblazers dressage just ensure you know your points total. Trailblazers Number: Your Trailblazers number is the number on the little registration card you were given by the Centres after you filled in your registration form before you competed at a Trailblazers competition. The Registration form is black and white (or the new ones pink and black) and A5 size, your Registration/Membership card is the size of a credit card. The number wanted on your entry form is this number not the one on your lilac Qualification card. Once you have a membership card you need to keep it as you will need it again. The Registration forms and cards are obtained from the Centre where you first entered a Trailblazers competition. Every Competitor should have a Trailblazers number - if not get one!! You do not need to fill a registration form every year once you have done it you do not need to do so again. Just keep your registration card safe. . Click Here to view registration card, SHORT SUMMARY OF TRAILBLAZER RULES Before Competing each Competitor should fill in a Registration form, the Centre will then give you a Registration Card with your Trailblazers number on it. This registration card is about the size of a credit card. You should keep this card as you will need to put this number on your entry form for the Final. A centre may ask you to produce this card when you compete at that Centre. Once you have filled in one of these forms you do not need to do so again even if you filled yours in 2 years ago. SECOND ROUNDS Each participating Centre may run one second round competition. This year there will be 4 to qualify from each second round for the Finals in show jumping and 5 from each level in dressage. SHOW JUMPING Eligibility Seniors Classes open to horses
over 148cms. Therefore equines of 148cms are not eligible for this senior
competition. Jumping Rules Jumping rules to apply e.g. 4 faults for knock down, 3 faults first refusal, 6 faults second refusal, elimination on third refusal. Fall of rider or horse to incur elimination. After a fall the rider must leave the arena on foot. H/C - competitors may elect to go again any number of times but 1st round of jumping will be scoring round. They may then compete in the next class as normal. Tables: NT not timed Clarification of Heights and Ages Juniors riding ponies (148cm & under) must not have attained their 17th birthday by the first day of the National Championships. · Junior classes for riders 16 years and under on animals 148cms and under · Senior classes for riders 17 years and over on animals over 148cms · Riders 13 years and over may ride animals over 148cms in senior classes on or after their 13th birthday Qualification In the event of a partnership ceasing the qualification ceases. Riders can qualify a horse or pony for all height classes, but can only qualify a maximum of 4 for any one height. Riders can only jump a pony/horse in 2 classes at the Championships. Dress No item of tack / equipment to be used inappropriately or in a manner deemed cruel by Show Director Centre Owners. No rowels on spurs or weighted/hard ends on sticks. Martingales, market harboroughs only to be used with caveson nosebands and snaffle bits accordingly. No string, wire, cord etc to be used around horses mouths. No running reins/draw reins to be worn in a main arena at any time.
CLASSES TO BE RUN AT THE FOLLOWING LEVELS: PRELIMINARY, NOVICE AND ELEMENTARY. In both Junior and Senior. JUNIORS riding ponies/horses up to 16 years of age and not to have attained their 17th birthday on the day of the Championship. (In the case of dispute, birth certificates may be called for). Qualification RULE CHANGE - for 2007/2008 series. Horses that are currently registered with BD or horses that have been registered within the preceding 12 months will not be allowed to compete at Preliminary level with any BD points, Novice level with more than 60 points or Elementary level with more than 100 points. Should a horse be downgraded by BD, the points awarded will be accepted by Trailblazers. Though any rider may elect to ride HC. Dress Tack Prohibited Tack Martingales, bearing / side / running reins, blinkers. Sheepskin seat covers, boots and bandages. No other gadgets or aids are permitted.
